Madonna of the Rocks 27d (left) is the second in the series. It is drawn from a photo session I did at ECA in April based on recreating old poses - in this case the famous painting Madonna of the Rocks. Series 5 is based on some of the same ideas as series 3, but the drawings are slightly larger (22x32 cm). KCCaD28d and MKiP29d are the only ones in that series yet, and the latter is actually not quite yet finished. I have started using Arches hot press paper which seems to work quite well with the level of details in the new drawings.
I am, however, still on the lookout for a smoother kind of surface. The stretching of the paper onto boards (like canvas) requires a quit hardy but still flexible paper.
I am also still looking for the perfect pencils, as most of those I am currently using seem a little too "grainy" in texture.
